The lyricism, romanticism, and virtuosity of Dedova’s performances have brought her love and affection from the audience and critical acclaim. Commenting on Dedova’s performance of the D-minor Brahms Concerto with the Fairfax Symphony, The Washington Post described it as a “performance that went straight to the heart of the music.”
Daniel Webster, Music Critic of The Philadelphia Inquirer, wrote: “Dedova comes from a somewhat earlier tradition that produced ebullient pianists with theatrical approaches, especially to romantic music. Her program of Schumann, Chopin, and Debussy brimmed with color, big sound, and freedom of phase. This very personal style did not take her outside traditions. Still, it connected her strongly to the kind of playing that predated the era of cool objectivism that characterized a generation of pianists in the West.”
Dedova’s recording credits include releases for the Melodia label as well as for ConClaRec and Morning Storm labels. Her four-CD set Debussy: The Complete Solo Piano Music (May 2011, Centaur Records) earned praise from Fanfare Magazine, declaring Dedova “an artist of the highest caliber ... an unerring musical instinct and flawless technique.”
